"I lost consciousness in the helicopter and I remember thinking I was dead, and that this was the end…then nothing,” Jim has no memory of his time in the hospital during his stroke, but came out the other side dedicated to fight his way back. And fight he did!

After the Thanksgiving feast, and the savings on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, consider giving back to your community on #GivingTuesday! GivingTuesday is a global movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy. The Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts asks our community to help us give JOY this year, by donating an item to the BIA-MA Giving Tree.

#BIAMAGivingTree is a collection of items that will be combined to provide “wellness” bags to survivors of brain injury across the state through our partnerships with day programs, support groups, and residential facilities! 2016 was our first year and over 100 bags were distributed – with your help we hope to make that 200 this year.

Donation ideas:
Self-Care & Beauty Items like toothpaste, lip balm, grooming
Cozy Accessories like blankets, hats, scarves, socks (please no clothing or jewelry)
Journals & pens
Games/puzzle books/coloring books
Ear plugs or eye masks
Coffee mugs or water bottles
Ice packs or heating pads
Calendars/sticky notes
Inspirational tokens

Bring an unwrapped, new (still packaged, unused) item to any of our three locations by December 1 to be delivered in time for the holidays. The gift limit is $10 per item.
