Survivor & Family Support
Brain injury can have a traumatic effect on both survivors and their families. BIA-MA sponsors support groups across the state that provide survivors and their loved ones a forum for sharing information about brain injury as well as a compassionate and understanding peer group.

Below you can find our support group list. This list includes support groups from all over the state and is regularly updated. You can view it in either Adobe .PDF or Microsoft Word formats.

Information and Resources
The brain injury assistance system can be difficult to navigate. Our professional staff at BIA-MA strives to provide survivors and their families with a helpful road map. Our licensed social workers are always available to answer questions, and can provide resources, support, and informal counseling.
BIA-MA can also provide information on a variety of subjects, including:
  • Social Security
  • State benefits and programs
  • Medicaid, Medicare, and MassHealth
  • Physicians, neurologists, and neurosurgeons
  • Therapists and psychiatrists
  • Facilities, including rehabilitation and long-term care
  • Special education and other educational resources
  • Housing and supported living
  • Support groups
  • Legal resources
  • Brain injury information, articles, books, and fact sheets
